Worried people will get sick of your posts?

Hi Reader,

Happy December! Michigan decided to make winter official by dumping a foot of snow on us over the weekend ☃️

I had a conversation in the Bodywork Media forum last week with an LMT and I knew I had to share it with you because it’s something almost every massage therapist quietly struggles with.

She said:

"How do you maintain social media presence without becoming social media static or clutter?....how do you not just become another page posting irrelevant content or content that doesn't engage your target audience?"

And I get it. When YOU scroll, you probably see massage content everywhere - stretches, cupping videos, posture tips, memes, lymph drainage how-tos, SOAP-note jokes, all of it.

But here’s the part we forget:

You’re seeing all that because you follow a ton of other massage therapists or engage with a lot of massage content. Your clients don’t.

Your clients aren’t following 50 MT accounts like we do, or have their algorithm trained to show them massage stuff. They’re not comparing your post to the cupping demo they saw three swipes earlier. They’re not rolling their eyes thinking, “Ugh, another massage therapist talking about neck pain.”

That’s our perspective - not theirs.

And on top of that?

No one sees all your content anyway. The algorithm isn’t handing your entire feed to every follower (unless they’re actively stalking your page… in which case, congrats, you’ve got a superfan).

Most people only see a fraction of what you post.

So when you share something valuable (whether it’s educational, nurturing, funny, or “hey, here’s your reminder to book”) your clients aren’t thinking, “Oh no, not THIS again.”

They’re thinking, “Oh right… I needed this.”

Or, “Yep, that’s me.”

Or, “Huh. That makes sense now.”

Your posts aren’t clutter. They’re care. They’re connection. They’re tiny moments of support that your clients may not get anywhere else.

So if you ever worry that you’re repeating yourself, or that you’re posting what “everyone else is posting,” remember:

You’re not marketing to other massage therapists. You’re marketing to the people whose bodies are asking for your help.

And they’re not tired of you - they’re grateful you showed up. 😘
