I forgot how good it feels to learn something new

Hey Reader,

I spent today in a TMJ continuing education class… and I didn’t expect it to feel like such a reset.

It wasn’t just learning new techniques or reviewing jaw mechanics, it was the simple joy of being in a room with other massage therapists again. Talking shop. Sharing stories. Comparing notes. Feeling connected in a way I honestly hadn’t felt in a long time.

It reminded me how energizing it is to learn something fresh… and how much I’ve missed that spark.

And because my brain is always half in “massage mode” and half in “helping therapists market themselves,” I started thinking about how many MTs tell me they want that same feeling when it comes to their content.

Not pressure… just inspiration.
Not perfection… just direction.
Not isolation… but a sense of “ohhh right, this makes sense.”

So in case your clients are dealing with jaw tension (or you want an easy way to educate them), here are a few simple, client-friendly nuggets from today you can swipe:

🧠 3 TMJ reminders your clients actually understand

  1. Jaw pain is rarely just the jaw - neck, stress, and clenching all play a part.
  2. Gentle, consistent care helps more than trying to “fix it all at once.”
  3. Tongue-t0-palette neutral position helps to prevent jaw pain.

📝 Quick content ideas from my notes

  • Story poll: “Do you clench your jaw at night?”
  • Carousel: “3 fast things to calm jaw tension”
  • Reel: “TMJ self-care you can do at your desk”
  • Post idea: “Why your neck may be contributing to your jaw pain”

Feel free to use these ideas however you want.

And if you’ve been wondering about Bodywork Media, the membership is currently closed until January while I update some things behind the scenes. But honestly? Today’s CE class reminded me exactly why I love creating resources for therapists in the first place - that feeling of support, connection, and “hey, here’s something that makes your day easier.”

I’m excited to bring more of that energy into the new year.

And while the main membership is currently closed, the new community forum is open and free - it's not required to be a member to join the forum and jump in on some discussions on marketing, social media, etc of running a massage biz.
