Hey Reader,
Let’s talk about something every solo massage therapist deals with at some point when it comes to keeping up with an online presence: Blank screen. Zero ideas. Total post idea brain fog.
If you’ve ever stared at your social media or email dashboard thinking “What the heck do I even post?”, you’re not alone.
Here’s a quick 5-minute prompt that works every time:
Think of ONE client you saw recently. Now ask yourself:
- What was their goal for the session?
- What did you help them with?
- What did you wish more people knew about that issue?
Boom! Instant content ideas.
I did this with a client I worked with on Friday. He had shoulder reconstruction surgery about a year and a half ago, is still working toward full recovery, doing PT, and frustrated to not be able to play ball with his grandson without having pain for weeks afterward.
We did a LOT of massage cupping and talked about how cupping works, and about the different muscles that are involved in the shoulder.
We used a small towel rolled up as a bolster for under his shoulder while prone, and applied Deep Blue Rub after the work we did.
I can turn that into:
-
Educational Post (Carousel or Caption):
Topic: “Massage Cupping for Post-Surgery Shoulder Recovery” Break it down like:
- Slide 1: “Can massage help after shoulder surgery?”
- Slide 2: “Short answer: Yes! Especially with cupping.”
- Slide 3: Benefits of cupping (blood flow, myofascial release, etc.)
- Slide 4: Reminder that it’s not a quick fix, but part of a long-term plan
- Slide 5: “Massage doesn’t replace PT... it supports it.”
- Client Story/Testimonial Style Post (with permission or anonymized):
Caption Idea: "Last week, I worked with a client recovering from shoulder surgery who just wants to play ball with his grandson without pain. Together, we used cupping to target the deeper structures around the joint, and had a breakthrough moment when he realized he could move with less tightness and had greater range of motion." Include an uplifting note like: Progress doesn’t always feel dramatic, even small wins matter. 💪
